This track was created with legendary psychedelic musicians Younger Brother - Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan. These artists are true explorers of the unknown in the realm of sound. Their music blends psychedelic electronica, ambient, and experimental elements, crafting sonic landscapes that feel like portals to other dimensions. In "momentary drift", their signature glitchy textures and immersive, multi-layered atmosphere are immediately recognizable. The track feels simultaneously real and dreamlike. Their presence adds psychedelic depth, yet the music remains warm, open, and full of light.
A connection with Younger Brother’s upcoming album:
We have arranged two related tracks with Younger Brother:
"momentary drift" appears on our album as a three-minute version.
A longer, eight-minute version titled "endless drift" will be released on Younger Brother’s album.
Both versions explore the same theme from different perspectives, offering listeners a chance to experience the journey in two distinct yet interconnected ways.
Younger Brother is the project of Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan, formed in 2003. Their debut A Flock of Bleeps became an underground classic, followed by The Last Days of Gravity in 2007, featuring live instruments and vocals from Ruu Campbell. In 2011 they released Vaccine, recorded with a full American band, and later Vaccine Electronic. The group went on hiatus in 2014, though both Simon and Benji have expressed interest in returning. The name “Younger Brother” comes from the mythology of the Kogi people, who saw themselves as the “Elder Brother” warning that the “Younger Brother” (the modern Western world) would bring destruction. Simon and Benji used this concept symbolically, and fragments of the myth appear in their track “Evil & Harm”.
Simon Posford is best known for his work as Shpongle and Hallucinogen, pioneering psychedelic electronic music. He started out at Olympic Studios at 17 as a tape operator, doing basic tasks like setting up cables and making tea, while learning from top engineers like Mark “Spike” Stent and Dave Bascombe. Later he moved to Butterfly Studios with producer Youth. Simon first learned piano as a child by copying a friend, and his grandfather had been a composer in the 1930s and 40s. He never received formal music education, relying instead on experimentation, imitation and breaking rules. Simon prefers an experimental approach with no fixed formulas, often building dense mixes of over 200 tracks. In his own words, there are “no presets, no algorithms” in his process. He balances analog and digital tools and sees music as an open-ended exploration rather than a goal-driven pursuit.
Benji Vaughan is a producer and musician also known as Prometheus, creating forward-thinking psytrance with rich textures and strong production values. He co-founded Younger Brother with Simon to push beyond genre boundaries. Outside of music he launched Disciple, a platform for creators and communities. After stepping away for several years, Benji returned with solo work including Eidolon and new Prometheus releases, while keeping the door open for more Younger Brother projects.
